Spending 4 days working in Washington DC...the belly of the beast.

Contemplating leaving my hotel and venturing out for sustenance unarmed :leaving

There are dogs and SS everywhere due to some international summit.

Im afraid to even check this forum....

M&S Grill and Les Halles around 11th & Pennsylvania NW are really good. Old Ebitt Grill around 14th near Mandarin Oriental Hotel also good. You can probably walk around anywhere North of Constitution and West of 8th St until about 10PM and you'll be fine.

Im staying at the fairmont. Not kidding when I say I cant spit and not hit some armed uniformed/suit/plain clothes alphabet guy anywhere I go...lol.

I only have time on Friday to hit the mall and see the sights. Working the rest of the time. Spent 6 weeks here in 2005 so Ive done all the tourist stuff.

Not sure why people are warning against going out after 10. DC doesn't allow anyone but police / SS / Political bodyguards to have guns, so you should be completely safe. :coolgleamA:

I second the recommendation for Old Ebbit Grill.
