supporting documents question
I figured someone may have had an experience like mine. I applied for a chl/ltc at the beginning of the year. Yesterday I received a letter requesting supporting docs. I had an arrest over 16yrs ago, nolo contendre plea, did probation/fines, etc. 6yrs ago I had the charges reduced to misdemeanors and expunged. The only documents I received were the transcript, and submission order signed by the court clerk. All my rights have been restored, and I can legally buy/own firearms. I even purchased a suppressor last year.
I spoke with an RDS operator this morning, and she suggested that what I have is fine. Anyone been through a similar ordeal? I don't mind waiting, I just want to make sure that what I submit is legitimately what they're asking for. It's all I currently possess regarding the case. I just wanted to know. Thanks for any information.

You could always get disposition papers from the court house. That would be your best bet so you don't have to wait any longer than you already have.

Re: supporting documents question
I'm not 100% sure that I DON'T. ......I had heard that they'd need something with a raised seal. When I described what I had, (which is fact a judges order pulling the original plea, and entering "not guilty" and then a dismissal) the operator said I'd be sending them a copy anyway. I was just curious as to whether anyone else had a similar experience.

Re: supporting documents question
I just received an email stating that my application (according to their records) had been approved, and was in the process of being mailed. Anyone else get an email like this? How long till plastic in hand? I just sent the last of my supporting documents two weeks ago. Seems like they got 'em, and rushed it through........I'm impressed.

From what I have read from others, it usually only takes about a week to get plastic after being notified.

Ok. I wasn't sure. At this point I'm all set to wait the allotted 180days, and seeing as how the website hasn't changed when I log in, I wasn't too hopeful. Thanks for the info.

Well, the website changed this morning. I now have the option of changing my info. My supposition is that "the check's in the mail". Thanks for the info, guys.
