Post by E.Marquez »

FOR SALE $500 OBO ; Kimber M98 rifle
It is a .338 win.mag., with a 26" fluted stainless barrel and target crown, that is attached to a 98 Bruno mauser action. Comes with a black nylon sling. The black synthetic stock is a Butler Creek. While the recoil pad is stamped Kimber . The bolt has a matt finish. The trigger guard and floor plate is full 98 mauser military., as well as the 2 stage trigger. The barrel is printed Kimber of America, Inc. , Clackmas, Or.- M98 Sporterized in USA.

This was my Moose and Caribou gun when I lived in Alaska.

108 rounds down the barrel, Been a safe queen since I left Alaska in 2000..... I've shot it twice in the last 10 years, last time was a month ago as part of a "Gender Reveal" party.. tannerite and blue chalk worked well...lol

Prefer FTF in Killeen area, but could be coaxed to a short road trip for the right buyer... Wonder what DPS would do if I transported it on my bike slung over my shoulder...

Weaver 1" rings included as well as TASCO 3-9x40 scope. scope is clear and the cross hairs are intact.. it is not a scope I would take on a planned, expensive hunt. This scope was not what i used when I was still hunting..as it should not survive many hard hits from this rifle... BUT, I wanted to play at the range, mounted it,., and it's doing fine for about 85 rounds so far so who knows..

Want more, different angle, or close ups, just ask.

If local I can meet to show it as well.
Cash talks.. Not the first time I have listed it, and if I get nothing but low ball offers or trades for your used not running Ford explorer than back in the safe it goes until next time I find some .338 on sale and decide to take it to the range for the day.

Thanks for looking

On a scale of Winchester .270, where is a .338 in kick?

Not sure about the .338 WM but I have a .340 Weatherby Mag and compared to my .270 is like a Rottweiler vs a poodle.
I wouldn't think the .338 is much less or may be about the same as .340 because mine is a wood stock and this is synthetic so a little lighter

Try this:

Or this:

http://www.chuckhawks.com/recoil_table.htm

Win. 270 you're around 11'ish in recoil velocity.
.338 win mag is at 16'ish. So, yea, it's a tad more kick

I have #1 in 416 Rem mag and that's interesting one to shoot "rlol"

I don't mind a bit of recoil now and then, but you guys are masochists.

Nah. I'm sure the .338 Win Mag is fairly comfortable to shoot... http://www.outdoorhub.com/stories/2015/ ... artridges/

.950 JDJ..."Firing custom 2,400- to 3,600-grain bullets and reportedly matching the power of a World War I tank round...."

That...is...brutal!...

So....338 win mag is probably a soft shooting big bore. Like a .22LR compared to .416 rigby :biggrinjester:

If I had extra $500, I'd get it in a heartbeat just for fun!
