Not really diggin' this idea...
"It is much more common to see unsupported platform (sometimes called "limp wrist") failures with this lighter ammunition than with "hot loads," which blow the gun into operation. Many experienced shooters have been frustrated with this fact when the rounds reveal a weakness in their technique. Of course, after they correct their problems and are able to control recoil better, they end up being faster shooters with their full-power loads, and they appreciate the learning opportunity provided by the lightweight frangible rounds."
Even though I see and understand the logic here, I believe it is extremely important to be consistant, and train like your going to fight...Frangible ammo performs a specific function, yet should not be an exclusive way to get the job done if you have to...Thats my rub on this idea...
Some may dissagree with me, and I respect that...
But like I always say, I believe it is more important to think less about the mechanics of how the equipment and training play into a "real life" situation, if that ever goes down...And to consentrate more on the shoot, no-shoot, get that accuracy to a higher precentage than what my round is going to do once its heading downrange...I should already know all of this beforehand, and be comfortable with that knowledge, and what is beyond that threat (target), before I pull the trigger...
Frangible ammo is an interesting concept, but I do not know a single Law Enforcement Officer or CCW permit holder anywhere that carries this stuff (regularly) while on the street, I stand to be corrected, if we have some folks here that do so...
