30.07 signs but no 30.06 signs. They are doing some half baked wanding at the gate. I didn't get to test their compliance as the wander somehow missed the Glock 19 on my hip and the LC9s on my wifes hip. However since no illegal 30.06 was posted they may be compliant.

huge metal concert at NRG Texans training field. Lasts all weekend. The freak show is worth the price.

Looks like a pretty cool concert. As far as I can tell, the place is owned by Harris County. That means they can't post those 30.07 signs legally. I would be willing to bet they also wouldn't have allowed you in with your firearms had they been detected.

Section 411.209, Wrongful Exclusion of Concealed Handgun License Holder, only applies to concealed carry. There's no prohibition against an entity displaying a 30.07 sign.

IIRC, it might be that 30.07 was passed after the "new" restriction and penalties for governmental agencies improperly posting 30.06 signs and the language for OC/30.07 didn't make it in because it hadn't passed yet.

Either that or they intentionally made it as it is to see how things went the first go around before also prohibiting the prohibition of OC/30.07. However, I lean towards the former.

If a private organization is renting the area and posting/enforcing the signs then don't the exclusion laws not apply? At least that's how I understood it from my class.

That's not how the law reads. It depends strictly upon ownership of the property. There was a AG opinion about a non profit renting city space at an arms length agreement with a lot of caveats, but strictly speaking, if the government owns the land, it should not be posted.

Cleanup bill for 2017... just add "a city cannot post signs, nor allow for any sign to be posted by any third party. We also need to make it to where the default setting is to take down signs while the complaint takes 6+ months to work through the AG's system. "Any political subdivision of the state that receives notice of a complaint from the OAG regarding a sign SHALL remove any and all signs until such a time that the complaint is investigated and it is decided that the sign is compliant, at which time it may be reposted.

The City of Benbrook City Hall, and Police Station have both had signs up the whole time since early May when I filed my official complaint... it is September 24th, and nothing has been done other than the initial notification, and the signs are still up as of Thursday. So, I am 100% sure that Benbrook is in complete violation... but they get to violate my right and my "privilege" to carry a handgun because the process is so %&$?@# slow.

As we have already seen, just making it against the law for an entity to post signs does not always keep them from breaking the law. Those responsible party for posting or instructing to post must be held liable as an individual, via some monetary loss from them personally.

Your Glocks should be fine. A rifle with a barrel of 24 inches or longer, not so much. Also refrain from adjusting the satellite dish on top of your RV. Golfing with Bill Murray...also not so much.
