Tickets are not sold for the event. So I would think not, Dallas Police provides security so worst case - I'll just go up and ask one of the DPD officers.
Also any CHL’s attending - please post if you would like to meet-up.

I attented the original Quakecon years back, but haven't been able to make it since.ejector wrote:Quakecon is at the Dallas Hilton Anatole this week, I know the hotel is not posted, but the event does have a computer gaming competition with a $100,000 cash prize hand out.. Is this considered a professional sporting event. Basically my question is: carry ok![]()

I can't think of a more important place for me to carry.llwatson wrote:Did you sleep through part of your CHL class and dream this while you were snoozing?TexasJoe wrote:I think there is something against carrying at hotels. You may want to check.![]()
There is no prohibition against carrying in a hotel.
Well I carried, but my spider sense was going nuts, so I went back my car and disarmed then approached one of the Dallas Sheriff officers who are providing security (not DPD this year) and asked if she considered the event a professional sporting event with respect to CHL carry. She then asked me I was trying to bring a weapon in – I said no, and she quickly stated that NO WEAPONS ARE PERMITTED inside the event.CleverNickname wrote:A bunch of sweaty nerds in a dark hotel ballroom is most definately not a sport.
