Advice on a possible handgun problem

Post by AFJailor »

Together me and my wife have fired about 400 rounds through her sig p232 and ive noticed that the slide has a fair amount of play up and down from the frame, just under the front sight post...now this hasnt affected accuracy at all because the barrel is fixed to the frame, but should i be worried that there is something wrong? There is very little play side to side, but the movement up and down is bothersome.

I don't know about Sigs, but what you described sounds like normal behavior in Glocks. I'm pretty sure your gun is just fine, but I'm also sure someone with a lot more experience will chime in.

It's tough to gage what is a "fair amount of play, e.g. 1/16, 1/32, 1/64 so on." I have a 232 in SS with a few more rounds through it than you and mine is still tight. As AndyC stated take in to a shop to compare.
