IT doesn't have a ton in common with its big brother, but it should be a very good CCW. Only problem now is getting Beretta to release it on time. Apparently, the production of the new 90-two has been extended to meet demand and this is pushing back the release to January time frame. Not a very good release for a new pistol. Bad timing for sure with their advertising campaign.

However, the SC is supposed to utilize the browning type tilt barrel action as opposed to the full size PX4 and its rotating barrel. Controls are going to be similar and the subcompact will be able to use full size mags with an "adapter" (spacer that slips onto the mag) which I personally like considering I have two full size PX4's. They're going to be offered in 9mm and .40cal to begin. I don't think there's any plans for .357 or .45 for the subcompact, but Beretta will also be releasing a .45acp PX4 soon.

I've carried, competed and worked on many PX4's in the past year+ and I can say without reservation that if the SC is anything like it's full size counterpart, I'll be first in line to get one. If only BUSA would get on with its release already!!!

Don't know anything about the Beretta Storm PX4 SC but I would take any Gun magazine review with a grain of salt. The writers aren't paid to make their advertisers products look bad. So they tend to point out the good features and overlook the bad or at least report the bad in a positive way.

I don't think Guns & Ammo ever met a gun they didn't like.
