My New Beretta

Post by carlson1 »

I picked this Beretta up a few weeks ago. I gave it over to Age Ranger for a working over. I have never owned a Beretta or had the desire to. I am not for sure how it shoots, but right now I can say it is the smoothest semi auto I have ever held. The action job A-R did is amazing. I hope I can give a range report on Monday evening. Thanks Age Ranger I will let you know how good you did. Even Longtooth will have to admit is it pretty ;-)

Sure is pretty, I bet she shoots as good as she looks. I think you got a winner with that one.

I confess. I Confess. I CONFESS.
Sweet.
Best part is I want a report on the action job.
I would rather have someone on the board do work than send one off.
Cant do it yet but one day will have the Ruger done.
Glad you like it.
See you in 34days. ;-)

Another successful convert !!

Actually, that's one sweet pistol. Right down to the stainless barrel........those nice logo'd wood grips are really nice too. It was a pleasure to work on. The trigger job was mostly smoothing the action. The words "I intend to carry it" really took alot of the extreme modifications out of the picture like changing the sear angle or shortening the pull length and putting in a super light hammer spring. Reliability had to be maintained. An overtravel stop wouldn't be a bad idea but would require some refinishing on the trigger bar. I use a weld on the end of the trigger bar just inside the frame where you can't see it. Takes a bit of fitting to do, but I like it better than a weld or screw on the back of the trigger. The only thing I'd add might be an extended mag release.

The biggest reward of doing a job like this is getting to know a new friend and seeing how happy someone is with their "new" pistol. Pleasure working with you, Carl.

Resistance it futile. Assimilation is inevitable. Soon everyone will carry Beretta!!!!!

Seriously though I'm glad you enjoyed it. I might have to get Age to give mine a once over one day. Darn good shooting there too.
