TX: Ankle monitors can be cut off, who knew?

Sentenced to 29 years, but cut off his ankle monitor during the trial. Didn't show up for last couple important days, like being found guilty, sentencing and being led away to jail.

Wasn't found near last location where ankle monitor last pinged.

It's too late for me to find the article I read on this to provide a link.

There are a lot of people running around with ankle monitors on. But there are not always sufficient authority people MONITORING these ankle monitors.
One may assume that there is some sort of well-staffed control room where there is constant surveillance of ankle monitors. This is not the case.

Sometimes there is no one actually monitoring the ankle monitors. Even if one is cut off, and the monitors are monitoring, by the time they make the call to the proper LEO's, the BG can already be in the wind.

Who knows? Even if so, does anyone work 24/7?
