I have only read the article provided. There is a video, but I haven’t watched it yet.
If the article is giving all the facts, then the homeowners were completely in the wrong. You can’t chase someone who is jogging down the street, get into a fight with them when they won’t stop to talk to you, then shoot them. (Even if you think the person fits the description of the most recent burglary suspect.)
Having said that, the article also says that this person has mental health issues, has been violent in the past, and he brought a handgun to a high school basketball game. He doesn’t appear to be a model citizen.

It appears to be a complicated story.
One thing for sure though. The men who chased after the man they thought was a criminal will be spend a lot of money and time defending what they did.
