I like the guy in the white shirt who tackled the suspect and held him on the ground. The additional beat down I think was unnecessary though. Looks like a bit of mob mentality. Some folks just wanted to get some shots in after the adrenaline kicked in. Kudos to the guy holding him down for the officer though.

Oh, I dunno. Maybe it will give the guy some appreciation for being taken into peaceful custody by the police who have rules versus being dealt with by his angry neighbors. Glenn Reynolds likes to say that the judicial system and the police don't exist to protect society from the criminals, but to protect the criminals from society. There's a lot of truth in that.

Police are there to act as a go between to protect the criminal from the righteously angered society, by removing the criminal and placing them in a jail cell awaiting a court date they save the criminal from citizens and a Rope!

Yeah. Sorry. That was pure satire on my part; I just didn't make it clear.

Admittedly I cringed for a second when the takedown guy went "knee to neck" so the cop could cuff the perp.

Glad people stepped in (pun intended). I think more and more folks are tired of the nonsense.

I did too, but then a woman came in and said something to him and he removed his knee from his neck. Whatever she said, it worked. Good for her and good for the guy for listening and not being too in the zone to hear her.

I also thought the beat down was excessive and reminiscent of the guy that got pulled out of that truck up in Portland where the "security" guy tried kicking his head for a field goal. Just subdue the dude and help the officer. Don't set yourself up for the same charges you accuse the police of committing that is causing all of this insanity.

If this video is shown at CNN, MSNBC or any other lefty news organization,we'd be seeing a lot of exploding heads.

To me it seems like the guy being arrested had some beef with those in the crowd. Unless it was true mob mentality but I haven't seen or heard of a mob assisting a police officer. The big guy in the white shirt kept his cool pretty good even after the back up officer (who obviously wasn't fully aware of the situation) came up and pushed him.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

Yeah, I'm thinking that guy the cop was trying to arrest had a history with the crowd that didn't make it on video.
