Re: Getting into the Gun Culture - NW Houston

FYI, you might find Shiloh Indoor Shooting Range handy. They're at 12703 Shiloh Church Rd
Houston, Texas , Tel: (281) 520-1038. They're just east of Willowbrook Mall and just south of 1960.

I've found them to be pretty good. There's an IDPA group that gather there, too. At least as of my last visit ...

Re: Fist IWB holster

FWIW, I have 2 FIST holsters, the #K1 WITH INSIDE OUTSIDE ADAPTERS and love them. Occasionally, the muzzle-end gof the holster rubs a bit, after MANY hours of wear IWB, but usually that's not a problem. OWB there have been NO prolblems.

Re: Need Advice - Pocket/Wife Starter Pistol

Good advice from the above posters.

Therefore, I'll restrict my comments somewhat.

I have, and carry, a Beretta Tomcat & like it. I do not start new shooters out on it for the following reasons:
Relatively sharp recoil (IMNSHO)
Very LO-ONG double action trigger pull
Very STRO-ONG double action ...

Re: Non CHL car carry

I have repeatedly read that Harris, Bexar, Travis and Tarrant (?) counties choose to "let the judge decide" if the suspect was violating this law. Is this still true? Or was it ever true?

Re: Our New Church is Temporarily Meeting in a Jr. High School

Thank you Charles.

I guess my eyes glazed over that "an activity sponsored by a school or educational institution is being conducted." So you're saying that 46.03 says carrying concealed on a Sunday morning church service in a school building is OK? Some of us Aggies are REAL dense.

Our New Church is Temporarily Meeting in a Jr. High School

Howdy All!

I've searched this forum & scratched out. Our new church in Tomball will be meeting initially at the Jr High. If I'm reading PC 46.03 . . . correctly, carrying on Sunday is prohibited. Am I, unfortunately, correct? Or is there an exception for non-school, off-hours, gatherings that I'm ...

Re: How young is too young?

Our Story:

Two kids. They are now 34 & 21.

When #1 was about 8-10 we got her a BB gun & taught her safety with it. Prior to that we had few, unloaded, firearms. By the time she was 12 she was OK on both 22s and our 38 snubbie.

With #2 we started when he was 4. I was cleaning the above mentioned ...

Re: Kelsey Seybold Clear Lake asking gun questions

We use Kelsey (north side) & no longer have kids at home. This issue was first raised, to my knowledge, several years ago when AMA (I think) formulated "guidelines" for enhanced child "protection." We briefed our then early-teen age child to not answer. We explained how the doctor may be well ...

Re: Cool

Been lurking here for a year or two.

Count me in, too. I'm in the Houston/Spring area.

I am classified as a "disabled" shooter :banghead: Heck, I was never "enabled" either!

Birth defects of both hands, wrists & forearms. No thumbs. Use both hands to shoot but I am an "obviously" right-handed for ...
