Re: Schools
IANAL, IMHO. ETC. I like barres' use of color but I'll do blue. 1.) If Yale University ($16.5 billion endowment) owned a shopping mall in Texas would it be off limits to good guys as a school? I say no. A shopping mall is a shopping mall. It doesn't matter if it's owned by a school, a church, or a ...

Re: Schools
But, the AT&T conference center is located on the UT main campus in Austin. I would think it is considered part of the premises due to its location. Location is not always a part of the answer, either. My church owns a student center (a building in any sense of the word) in the middle of the lo...

I don't think I have anything that would be a fair trade for both of us, but some folks might appreciate her measurements (barrel length, choke, chamber size). And here's a friendly bump for what is almost assuredly a nice shottie.

Re: Schools
First of all I am not a lawyer. This is just my reading/interpretation of Texas law. There's recent talk about schools, so I thought it might be interesting to talk about some hypotheticals. <soapbox> I know the Bill of Rights says "shall not be infringed" but Straus and his cronies made ...

God bless the men and women serving our country and protecting our freedom. This picture is a wonderful reminder of what many of our service men and women are willing to go through (and more) for our sakes.

Re: Shooting on private property
When we asked what to do about coyotes in our yards, the deputy at the HOA meeting said "just shoot 'em". You could pick out the liberals in the room by the expressions on their faces. "rlol" That's hilarious! Glad law enforcement in your neck of the woods has some common sense ...

Re: First Time Pulled Over, Lessons Learned
However, 46.02(a-1) (MPA) says it is only an offense to carry a handgun in a car if (1) in plain view, or (2) the person is (A) engaged in criminal activity , (B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm, or (C) a member of a criminal gang. If none of those situations exist, then there is nothin...

Re: Documented Mouse Gun Failures for CHLs
Lot's of stories of "I carry X, because of Y," but not much in actual answer to the OP's original question. I have no documented reports of a mouse gun failing to stop a threat, but I remember a story a few years back (sorry, I can't remember the source, either) where medical/trauma person...

Re: how many bullets do you CHLers carry?
That being said I had a friend that used a shotgun to bring down his first deer and it took 9 shots :woohoo . Did it die of lead poisoning? Seriously, I have several different answers, depending on where I am going and how I am dressed. Most often: 7 + 1 in a Kel-Tec PF9, sometimes with a spa...

Re: How Bad can Mid-Life crisis be?
Now wait a minute here. I'm no old fart at 35, but I've had a bald spot growing for at least 6 - 7 years, and I noticed my hairline receding before I was a teenager. A bald spot does not mean middle-aged.
But I'm way too fat for skinny jeans and would neither pay for nor wear ed hardy stuff.

Re: Why We Needed Campus Carry
In this situation she would have been legally carrying, no? Now a student going to or leaving class, not so lucky. Essentially students and faculty are told they are second class citizens. The more I reflect on this issue, the more annoyed I get. Right. Since she was presumably not in any building ...

Re: Semi-auto guide rods: Function with and without lasers?
The one complaint I've heard about the guide rod lasers is that the lens gets coated in GSR after a little practice, which renders the laser useless until cleaned properly. This is not from personal experience, and many would not consider this to be much of an issue, because they clean their pistols...

No such security checkpoint when I was there. Might depend on who was playing as to the level of security. We were there to see Straight No Chaser.

Verizon Wireless Theatre in Houston
I know there have been posts before about Verizon Wireless Theatre in Houston, but I recently went there for a concert. Here's the real scoop. There are completely legal signs on the doors you must use to enter the theatre. If you go looking for signs before the doors are opened, you can't miss them...
