We entered your application on 02/19/08; at this time it is going through the normal processing. It can take up to 60 days to process

This is the email I got from them today. Also checked the status online and now shows processing application. I feel better knowing that they did get the completed application. Kinda started sweating a little due to me mailing via regular mail. So now I can chill for up to another 60 days. :eek6

Michael
You know, I got to looking at the email responses that I've gotten thus far. And it amazes me that it takes 18 days to get the application into the process. So my question would be this: When do they start counting the amount of days they have to approve or disapprove the application? I guess during the 18 days that it took to start processing mine they must have been painting the office or something. And God bless you Lobo73! They must have done a total remodel of the office when they started yours! Probably lost it by now. I wonder if they ever get evaluated on their performance, or lack there of? I actually called them today for the first time. You know what the nice lady told me? "Mr. Leech its still in the same place it was since the last time you emailed the department." My reply was where? Under the coffe maker? So I will probably be the one that wins the record for longest time to receive renewal. Thanks for letting me blow off a little steam here. Until next week.

You got me worried now! May have to fire off another email and wait 3-4 days for their response. I got an great idea......let them receive their pay based on how many applications they process. That would get their asses in gear. Or if they can't do that, at least come up with some more informative statuses, such as:

1) Packet Mailed to Applicant. Thanks for paying in advance!
2) Got your application because we cashed your check
3) Entering your info into computer and taking our sweet time in doing so.
4) Let's say we're doing a background check
5) More info needed -Detail letter sent. Ha! Ha!
6) So you sent requested info back, see #3 above
7) Twiddling our….I mean, Processing Application
8) Application Complete….License Active.
9) We actually mailed your license.
10) Process complete within our 60 days!

I really don't know what they could do better to improve customer service. I do know what they have now is piss poor at best. Then again that could be S.O.P. since its a state agencey. I think the phone call was a good idea that went bad quickly. I just can not get over the attitude that the employee gave me. I sure did not see that one coming. Maybe they where having a bad day. Yeah, thats it, a bad day. I will rise above the bad experience that I had and move forward with a positive attitude. I'm all better now. :waiting:
