Another School Shooting

Just a random thought,

What would happen if one CHLer carried into a school (forgot to take it off, felt he/she should today, whatever) and shot the BG before it got worse?

Would the Anti's come down on that person?
Would the Police arrest them for carrying on a school? (doesn't TX have a clause in the gun laws for this?)
How would the media treat the story?

I would like to think that the Media, Police etc would applaud the individual for stopping the situation, but I don't know if that would happen.

Would this perhaps shed some light for the foolishness of banning licensed carry in a school?

Once again, the intense news coverage of thest types of crimes have resulted in "copy-cat" criminals... today another shooting at a school... this time in Wisconsin.

I expect we will have more in the next few days as a result of the media hype.

Anyone think it is time for "sensible news controls" to protect the public from irresponsible coverage of such events? Maybe a five day waiting period before they can report such news? Or maybe a one story a month limit?

With all due respect cxm, no way should the news be censored.
The way the news is reported and sensationalized should be the arguing point but not the news itself.
The way the main news outlets are biased is very disturbing, and adding censorship would be outright crazy.
Plus I doubt wether the news reporters could sit on a story, heck, they report military secrets practically every week!!!
If we could get them to report the facts, and not stay on a story for 12 hours, that would go a long way I believe.

All I know is when my parents went to school, there wasn't any school shootings. What has happened in the last 2 and a half decades or so? I remember the first time I heard about a school shooting I was a Sophmore in High School. And they seemed to becoming more frequent no a days.

Dan, I believe cxm was making an ironic suggestion that journalists have the 1st amendment treated the same way gun owners see done to the 2nd.

They are still a very rare event. I can't recall the last school shooting in Texas. Although there seems to be a few kids killed off in football every year. Perhaps we need less football and more armed teachers in the public schools

Now, that has crossed my mind more than once.

I remember going to school elementary and middle and not really being worried about guns in my school till one was found in a locker a couple of lockers down from mine in high school. And then a few weeks later there was a gang fight and shot were fired and then the asians got mad and started shooting at the mexicans and me and my friend got missed by inches in high school. I will tell you this all happened in a month. I went to a high school in Aurora, Colorado. I was born in colorado and stayed there till I was 9. I remember being in Kindergarten and going all over the place. Now I would not let my 5 and 6 year old out of my sight for very long at all. I am only 26 and alot has changed. I had a cousin going to columbine when the shootings happened there and one of her friends was one of the ones shot.

My mother, father and I all work at public schools. We all are chl's. My mother just mentioned this a few hours ago - "I wonder if they will ever change the laws to allow us [chls] to carry at school"
Unfortunately, I know they never will.

BTW, if you support less football, you had better go armed. (yes, I agree with you!)
