ok, just called the permit office in Las Vegas and they confirmed... NO concealed carry permits from ANY other states are honored anymore, anyone wishing to conceal carry in Nevada is required to apply for and receive a permit from NV. However, open carry is perfectly legal - assuming you are not violating the rules set by private property owners.

FYI - 'The Mirage' hotel and casino in vegas does NOT permit you to carry on their property at any time, however, you can bring the weapon straight to the front desk and they will store it in their safe while you are a guest of the hotel.

I think you meant to post this. The link you posted shows what states do/do not accept Nevada's permit.
Well... I respectfully submit that you're the one that's got it backward. The Nevada page lists the *other* state's CHLs which *Nevada* accepts.

But, hey, I think I was wrong, once... turns out I was mistaken.
I see what part you were looking at. Right underneath the map. I posted the Arizona page to show that Nevada accepted the AZ permit as shown on the map.

We were both posting relevant information just looking at it in two different ways :cheers2:

Nevada will honor permit/licenses issued by the following states.
Alaska Arizona Arkansas Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Michigan Missouri Nebraska New Mexico North Carolina Ohio Tennessee Rhode Island West Virginia.

Who ever you talked has no idea what they are talking about. If Nevada dropped anyone they would let everyone know just like they did when they dropped FL and UT. last year.

As for the note about the 2001 law that no longer applies. The Legislature gave the Sheriffs the ability to look at every state and decide what states would be valid in NV.
Every July they will add or in the case of FL and UT remove the states they honor.

Always best to go directly to an Official state gov website, rather than second hand information. Found this on NV's state website:

I'll quit carrying a gun when they make murder and armed robbery illegal

well thats odd... i called the number listed on the sherriff's website for Las Vegas, guess i got a new person!

i've decided to leave it at home anyways, too much trouble to take it with me and dont want to hassle with it while im drinking anyways... would rather be able to enjoy myself (read: drink til i puke) than worry about staying sober because im armed.

The problem is you called Las Vegas. They think they are their own state and not part of Nevada. And, in turn, they make a lot of their own rules to enforce. And, you will find private property owner rights vary drastically form state to state. The casino's are the same way; they are kinda self governing internally and their security may have a different view of what is allowed, legal or not.

Personally, if I had a permit Nevada honored, then I would NOT carry in a casino unless you are moving from the room to the outside, and would avoid the gambling areas when doing so. It will basically boil down to the 'You may beat the rap, but you won't beat the ride' scenario.

And, since you are mainly hanging in Lost Wages, I would do like you stated and just not take it. :thumbs2:
