State charges are normally class B, it's city ordinances that often make trespassing a class C and in Houston they either dropped that or the DA just started charging under the County charge because HPD doesn't do the class C for trespassing anymore. The good thing about it from my perspective was it was much easier to get HPD to arrest for trespassing once it became a class B. They, HPD, just couldn't care less when it was a class C.ScottDLS wrote:Trespass is generally a class C misdemeanor unless you were armed. Would not be prohibiting even if convicted, unless it was a higher level offense due to the premises.
