CHL is not a place to be cheap or lazy. First you should want to be a responsible gun owner and CHL holder. 2nd, should the need arise that your CHL comes into play, or even a simple traffic stop, you may not be in legal possession of a couple concealed handgun. I'm no lawyer, but that's my guess at how the situation may be interpreted.

While looking at the form link posted above, I noticed you can pay $12.50 to get "veteran" on your CHL. I am a "cheapskate" and will just wait until renewal.:

Either way, the info on both of them need to be the same...hassles waiting to happen if they are different.

For what it is worth, I changed my CHL address on line and got updated plastic in 5 days with New Years thrown into the mix. I printed my temporary drivers license but they say the DL takes 45 days to be sent.

Residence is where you live, are registered to vote, and the place to which when you are away, you intend to return indefinitely. Many have a place of residence, and another dwelling where they spend considerable time. You don't need to change your DL and CCW every time you go off to your cabin in West Texas for a few months, if you maintain a residence elsewhere and intend to return there when the spirit moves you to do so.

Example: We have a place in France, in my wife's former village in the Bordeaux region. We have gone there and stayed for two weeks, three weeks, even 3 months and more but our residence has always been where we lived back in Coronado, CA. Now, we live here and "reside" here, and if we go off to someplace else, while intending to return here at some point, this is our residence and remains so. Neither of us has a place of employment, but we are registered to vote here, our cats live here, our mail comes here, etc. If we go off on an around the world cruise for a year or even longer, as long as we intend to return here, this is our residence.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
