One thing that will help you is to settle on a belt width, like 1 1/2". Then get all the holsters ordered to fit that width belt.

I have sort of a strategic question for women that conceal in their purse.

if someone snatches your purse (i would think one of the more common forms of robbery against women) they just ran off with your your defense weapon.

I've always thought it would make more tactical sense to keep the weapon on your person.

at least that makes sense to my male mind. i do not dare tread in an arena that would have me fathom the mind of woman.

We debate this constantly; welcome to the discussion.
There are advantages and drawbacks to every form of carry. The purse actually has some tactical advantage if it's owner is willing to carry a certain way and have a hand inside while walking.

Since I like having my hands free, I prefer to carry on my body. However, I've found it to be a challenge. It's next-to-impossible to hide a pistol without completely changing my wardrobe. It's also frustrating to go into a dressing room, try on an outfit, and think, "Can I hide a gun under this?"

Even when a woman changes her style of dress, there's only so much gun she can carry without the bulge being too obvious. I put my .45 at the 4 o'clock position under my clothes this past Christmas. My dad & uncle snickered, saying I needed another one to balance out the other hip. Back to the drawing board.

When I can get away with it, I like to have two: the little one on my hip and the big one in my purse. However, I usually end up having only one, and it's usually the little gun. Is it the best set-up? No. Is it better than nothing? Certainly.
Just like men, women do what they can and try different things.

Each woman does what works for her and evaluates her own situation.

Talking to one particularly talented IDPA shooter on the forum, I discovered that she rarely carries on her body. She also doesn't tend to carry in a purse specifically made for a gun (Galco or Coronado). However, she tends to run errands and do things with her husband, who carries a .45 on his hip (and probably a back-up somewhere else). This guy can draw and shoot faster than most people can blink, so I can understand her confidence.
"If a man breaks in your house, he ain't there for iced tea." Mom & Dad.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

I can see the logic in that. I'm already telling my wife to consider how she's going to carry when buying clothes and I do that as well, but it does limit you to some degree and there is only so far you can push it within reason.

I honestly considered getting a "man bag" to carry in when I first decided to get my CHL and eventually ruled it out because i didnt like the idea of basically being tied to the bag all the time or the access time it would take to get to the bag providing i didnt walk around with my hand in it all the time. Was a bad choice for me but that was a personal decision.

I suppose we all struggle with those choices and they're personal choices we all must weigh. Personally i think it's a bad idea to carry in a purse, but i understand why some women would choose to anyway.

I guess i'm more concerned that they're aware of the problems that could arise in doing so.

If i had my way I'd wear one of those rigs that let me strap my .45 to my chest. I'd be perfectly happy with that but that makes it a bit difficult to conceal. :)

thanks for your input. I think i have a better understanding of the issue.
