Thank you.
I'm sorry you guys have been offended by my posts, that was not my intention. I'm simply trying to keep myself covered and I am always open to alternative suggestions. My requirements weren't listed as "demands" but just information that I can keep on record in the event I screwed over. I do need these sold, though, so please if anyone is looking or knows of a potential buy, do contact me.
To add, I'm not a CHL member and I'm not too sure what being one entails. I stumbled across this forum using an open web search.
Allow me to introduce us. We are the brethren of Texas Concealed Handgun License holders, duly licensed by the State of Texas to exercise a right affirmed by the Second Amendment to the Constitution. (I went pretty light on the sarcasm). This board is mainly to discuss issues near and dear to us in our quest for the ultimate in concealability, accuracy, beauty, function, presentation, and ultimately self defense. We do occaisionally wander off-topic, yours truly being one of the worst offenders.
In order to obtain a Texas CHL, one must make application to the Texas Dept. of Public SAfety, take a course approved by the state, pay a fee, learn the rules, submit fingerprints for the FBI to do a background check on us, the DPS does a background check, and when all T's are crossed, I's dotted, photos signed, paperwork sent in, and the Loooongest wait imaginable (supposedly less than 90 days, but accaisionally exceeds) the license arrives. I am licensed in Texas, Florida, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
If you value life, limb, and liberty, join the brotherhood, get your license, continue the search. Visit packing.org for more info as well. The brethren on this site are the finest you will ever interact with.

That's enough to make me feel like a complete moron...since I have one. Took a class here put on by the local police office. Don't know why I didn't make that connection...
Your thoughts seem to be that you want the guns to go to someone who isn't going to use them in a way that could get you in trouble. Without getting into the registration/traceability issues, that is, of course, a very good and responsible thought. To help keep that from happening you want some documentation. But then we have only your word that you will not use the documentation in ways it shouldn't be used. You seem to be asking for a level of trust that you do not want to give.
And, quite objectively, when I first read your first post, what you said really did sound like a demand, not a request.
I wish you all the luck in the world selling your guns.
Thanx,
TraCoun
I'm not in the "identity theft" industry...just not any real money in it, and I didn't request any information I wouldn't give, myself.
As said, I'm open to suggestions and would be more than willing to accept a copy (or whatever validates the license) of someone's CHL.
I must make of some money that was lost, though, so again, I really need to sell these.
~~Just to add, the people I've dealt with in real life, I've always just checked their driver's license (to ensure the pic matches the face) and kept a copy of the number as a record. I just don't think that doing it that way on the internet, where the merchandise might have to be shipped, is as secure.

I think you're not getting the point that several here have made. Nobody on this forum is going to give you a copy of any of their personal identification. Period.
Even if your guns were free, I wouldn't hand over my ID to get them. I would allow you to "see" my ID to confirm I am a TX resident but that is all you'd get and that is more than enough to validate the transaction between private individuals in this state.

What part of "I'll entertain suggestions" are you guys not getting? Let me elaborate a bit:
If you, the potential buyer, are uncomfortable with the information I've requested, feel free to suggest a method you are comfortable with.
It's that simple. I've said it 4 times and I have recieved little in this thread but absolute from people who aren't looking to buy. If you're not in the market for a pistol, I'm simply not interested in your opinion.
I've sent you a PM, please read it. I must admit, I apparently hadn't read your entire post, and certainly not the new thread you started, before I sent it. (It has been deleted.) If I had, I would have added additional information.
We have a very good group of folks on the board and I suggest you read several of the posts to get a flavor for how we interact with one another. Even when we disagree strongly on an issue, we treat each other with respect. I know it's rare on the Internet, but we like it that way.
You’re correct, you got off on the wrong foot and you’ll find we’re a pretty forgiving group, if you’re interested. Either way, this stops now, either by you or me; your choice.

Thank you.
Take your attitude and go elsewhere. You have been given SEVERAL suggestions for appropriate ways to sell your guns without liability for you, but you are more interseted in arguing. A simple "thank you, I hadn't considered how intrusive my request was" is all you need to say.
I'll buy all of your pistols. I'll give you a crisp $100 bill for 'em all.
