Maybe it may deter the punk kid at the movies who is 13-14 but with a real criminal you have a 50/50 chance. He may even take it from you, flip it open and stab you before you can even reach for a gun. You never know. I prefer to remain concealed. Even with a knife.

Well I was not implying showing it off. I mean the clip that holds it onto you pocket shows unless you have a long shirt or the clip color matches you pants.

Do you consciously hide your knife or is it just part of your daily outfit?

Well, I wear it every single day on my back right pocket. I always wear shirts un-tucked so you really can't see knife or clip.

10-4. Mine is front right pocket for now, but its defintly viewable if someone was paying attention.

Does it hurt your butt sitting down? My back left pocket is not utilized at this point.

Having a knife in my back pocket does not hurt when I am sitting. Now I will say this, it took me a few days to get used to it. But now that I am, I normally have one in each back pocket when I am at work.

Here is how My rig is set up: (I'm left handed)

Versamax II w/ Sig229 on left hip

Emerson Commander w/ wave feature in front left pocket (wave feature on Emerson knives is the GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD!! do yourself a favor and check it out!!)

Wallet in right rear pocket

NO KEYS....they stay in vehicle....doorlock remote in front left pocket

remote can be operated through jeans without having to reach into pocket and remove. This allows me to access my vehicle without delay, and without having to fumble around in my pockets for keys. Most personal attacks occur when the victim is preoccupied with other things and not paying attention to their surroundings. My "system" allows me the advantage of keeping both hands free the majority of the time, I can "give up" my wallet with my weak hand and still have access to my "tools" with my strong hand, and I can approach and enter my vehicle while keeping an eye out for potential threats, lastly.....when I get to my vehicle....my keys are right there....not laying behind me somewhere because I dropped them while trying to make a hasty departure.

As for someone seeing my knife....this is Texas....EVERYONE carries a pocket knife. If this deters a BG....fine, if not....they were obviously very determined to do evil to me anyway, so I was out of luck from the get go.

And anyone that knows me well enough to realize that I may have moved the carry location of my knife, also knows that I am armed, so that is kind of a moot point in my case.

AggieMM wrote:I had this similar question with a friend of mine, and he made an interesting point. He said that he puts his knife on the "opposite" side of this gun. Therefore, if confronted unexpectedly, and one hand is occupied during the struggle, he can still reach for "something", gun or knife. I thought that reasoning made great sense. Thoughts/comments?
That's a good idea. I would suggest the knife be positioned to allow a draw from either hand. You still can have it set up with a bias towards a preferred hand. One other thing I would also suggest is to get a dominant position before going for "something".
